A Real Exit Makes the Hypnotist Unnecessary
Not another spiritual title. Independence.
You will not become an unfeeling robot. Nor do you need to pursue “nothingness” as an attractive new experience. There is nothing to admire in it as a spiritual possession.
The point is not another title, and it is not a badge of nonduality.
The point is to end suffering. To stop seeing the world through a pathological network's narrow field of view. To recover energy, understanding, and wisdom. To become independent. To grow up.
Not to remain a child willing to believe any story that makes reality easier to avoid.
A story can feel wonderful. It does not exempt you from what is true.
So the next time someone offers you a meditation, a special state of love, another way to observe suffering, or a meeting with your “true self,” don't ask only, “What did I feel?”
Ask:
- Who directed my attention?
- Whose instructions did I follow?
- Why should this feeling prove the explanation I'm being given?
- Why does the teacher agree with every answer?
- What has actually stopped happening in my life—not just received a new name?
- Am I more independent, or do I need another dose of the same state?
A real exit does not require you to return to the hypnotist for the rest of your life.
It makes the hypnotist unnecessary.
It does not build another dependency. It ends one.
You don't need to be put into hypnosis. In the sense this book has described, you already spend your life inside it.
You need a way out.
- Who directed my attention?
- Whose instructions did I follow?
- Why should this feeling prove the explanation I’m being given?
- Why does the teacher agree with every answer?
- What has actually stopped happening in my life—not just received a new name?
- Am I more independent, or do I need another dose of the same state?
Questions for reflection, not a diagnostic test.
